I came across 100 Days of A11y through an email listserv this past week (looking at you, David @a11yweekly!).

Like Amy Carney, the website’s author, I too am planning to take the International Association of Accessibility Professionals (IAAP)’s Web Accessibility Specialist exam in early spring 2019. I like the structure and accountability the author has made public of doing at least 1 hour of study a day for 100 days, and though I don’t yet have a following here, I know just the idea that someone else can see this makes posting it more significant. And hey, whether I pass the first time or not, the end result is a web developer who’s better at coding accessible content for other users, so it’s a win-win to the nth degree!
Why 90 days? I jumped on the bandwagon a few days into the journey, and March 13th seems about right to take the WAS exam.
What I learned today:
- I broke up the WAS exam Body of Knowledge document into weekly pieces, very similar to what 100 Days of A11y is doing.
- I’m going to post at least weekly and share what I’ve learned and any resources as I go.
- Come along!
